Match Proof System
The proof system is an optional feature that allows users to submit proof of their match results. This feature requires for match proof submissions from match participants before their matches can be scored. This feature allows match proof submissions to be stored and organized within your tournament which you, as a Tournament Admin, can look back to at any time throughout your event. This is better compared to the alternatives of; making your own proof channel, having proof be submitted in a temporary match thread, or have no proof be submitted at all.
Setup and Enabling
All of the setup required for this feature will need to be completed via your tournament's edit page on our website, https://tournaments.tourneybot.gg/. To enable the proof system, you must first designate the game that your tournament is for underneath the "Game" section of the edit page. Once you have selected the game, you will see a new option directly below the game selection titled "Require Match Proof" with a toggle switch next to it. Simply toggle this switch to the "On" position and the proof system will be enabled for your tournament.
The "Require Match Proof" toggle is set to off by default.
Usage
Tournament Admins
Once you have enabled the proof system for your tournament, you will need to start your tournament to see it in action. Once you have started your tournament, you will see a new thread in your tournament's #admin
channel titled "📸 Proof Submission Log". This thread will house all of the proof submissions for your tournament. When a user submits proof for their match, a new message will be sent in this thread with the proof submission.
Each message will contain the following information:
- The match and Round number
- The user that submitted the proof
- The opponent of the user that submitted the proof
- The proof that was submitted
Since it is a thread generated in a private channel, only those with access to the channel will have access to the thread. So, tournament participants will not be able to see the thread or any content within it.
Tournament Participants
Once the proof system has been enabled for your tournament, you will be able to submit proof for your matches. To submit proof for a match, you will need to use the /proof
command in your match thread. The command takes one argument, the proof that you are submitting and must be a PNG or JPEG image. Proof can be submitted by either participant in the match, but it is preferred that the winner of the match submits the proof of them winning. Once you have submitted proof for your match, you will be able to score the match as normal.
What do we do with these images? And what are our next steps for this feature?
Currently, we at Joyn.gg use submitted match proof images to train our own AI model to detect if the submitting user won or lost their match and what the scores of the match were. We are currently working on a feature that will allow us to automatically score matches based on the proof that is submitted. This feature will be available to all tournaments that have the proof system enabled. We are also working on a feature that will allow us to detect if the proof that is submitted is valid or not. A non-valid submission would be a submission that is not an image or a submission that is not a screenshot of the match results for the game that you have selected. Our goal is to make this feature and running a tournament as easy as possible for both Tournament Admins and Tournament Participants. We are always open to feedback and suggestions for this feature and any other feature that we offer.
Conclusion
We hope that this feature will help you run your tournaments more efficiently and effectively. We are always open to feedback and suggestions for this feature and any other feature that we offer. If you have any feedback or suggestions, please feel free to join our Discord Server and let us know
