Check-in Process
This is an optional, yet important, process that you can utilize to help remove no-shows from your tournament. Learn more about the check-in process below.
Check-in Start
There are two ways to begin the check-in process:
- Via the ✅ button on the Configuration embed in the
#admin
channel of your tournament. - Via the
/checkin option:Start
command.
When you start the check-in process, you will receive a confirmation message asking you to confirm that you want to start the check-in process. Once you confirm, a channel named #check-in
will be created and the check-in process will begin.
It is recommended to use the /checkin
command as you will need it for other steps during the check-in process.
Active Check-in (Tournament Admin)
Once you've started the check-in process you will receive another message in the #admin
channel stating that the check-in process has started with three (3) button options attached to it:
- List - This will list all participants that have checked in.
- End - This will end the check-in process and will kick all participants that did not check-in.
- Cancel - This will end the check-in process but will not kick any participants that did not check-in.
As users check-in a message on the check-in embed in the #check-in
channel will be updated with the amount of users that have checked in.
The List, End and Cancel options are also available via the /checkin
command.
Active Check-in (Tournament Participant)
Once a check-in has started, Tourney Bot will ping the tournament participant role in the #check-in
channel asking users to check-in by pressing a green 'Confirm' button. Once a user presses they will receive a confirmation that they checked in and will be added to the list of checked in users.
Check-in End
The check-in process has 2 ways to end:
- If a Tournament Admin runs the
/checkin option:End
command, the check-in process will end and the#check-in
channel will be deleted and all users that did not check-in will be kicked. - If a Tournament Admin runs the
/checkin option:Cancel
command, the check-in process will end and the#check-in
channel will be deleted and all users that did not check-in will not be kicked.
Once ended, you are now ready to start your tournament!
If your tournament is set to Random Registration
, users in the registration pool will automatically be registered to replace kicked users.
